Meet the baker
Catherine was born and raised in Yangon, Myanmar. She immigrated to San Francisco with her family as a teenager and has been living in the Bay Area since. She is chasing her American dream of running a successful brick and mortar neighborhood bakery one day where she knows all the regulars by name (like in Cheers).
She graduated from UC Davis, with a bachelor in Food Science, where she developed a passion for baking. She is a self-taught baker who has been honing her skills since 2008. She worked as a food scientist for several years until she decided to open her own bakery. She is an avid traveler and draws inspiration for her creations from the places she has visited and the food she fell in love with.
For foodies that grew up in one world and live in another, memories of what childhood tasted like are constant daydreams. The corner bakery, the street vendors, the man selling fruit from a push cart... all those treats folded away in time, until we decided to change that.
The inspiration of our "nom nom's" come from childhood memories and numerous travels to Asia. We take exotic Asian ingredients and turn them into modern baked forms we all know and love. Try our Signature Nori Macaron or Thai Tea chocolate chip cookies to see for yourself.
